Mt. Hood is an American aroma hop bred from the German Hallertauer variety with similar mild flower/spice aroma characteristics with a hint more of the forest. Relative to Ultra, Liberty, and Crystal. Crafted in Oregon in 1983 and named after the famous volcano, it offers clean bittering.

Pedigree: Triploid seedling of Gr. Hallertauer Mittelfruh, half sister to Ultra, Liberty, and Crystal

Brewing Usage: Aroma

Aroma: Mild, somewhat pungent

Alpha Acids %: 4.0-8.0

Beta Acids %: 5.0-7.5

Co-Humolone: 22-27% of alpha acids

Total Oil: 1.0-1.3 mls/100g

General Trade Perception: Aroma hop variety with similarities to the German Hallertau and Hersbrucker varieties.
