Developed in Idaho in 1978, Galena is known for its citrusy aroma as well as balanced bittering properties. Also, it has excellent storage stability and has moderate tolerance to mildew/disease.
Primary Use: Bittering. Galena provides a solid, clean backbone without the intense floral or grapefruit dominance of other American varieties.
Aroma & Flavor: Mild citrus, tropical fruit (pineapple, peach), spicy wood, and blackcurrant.
Alpha Acids: 11.5% - 13.5%.
Total Oil: 0.9 - 1.3 mL/100g.
