An aroma variety hop, Amarillo was discovered and introduced by Virgil Gamache Farms Inc. Amarillo's low cohumulone content makes it great for bittering. The varieties high myrcene accounts for its pleasant citrus aroma.

Brewing Usage: Dual Purpose

Aroma: Floral, tropical and citrus tones

Alpha Acids %:  8-11

Beta Acids %: 6-7

Co-Humolone: 21-24% of alpha acids

Total Oil: 1.5-1.9 mls/100g

General Trade Perception: Viewed as a Cascade type

Possible Substitutions: Cascade, Centennial, Simcoe®

Typical Beer Styles: American Ales, IPA, Belgian-style IPA, Double IPA
