Inspired by Alaskan Amber from Alaskan Brewing Company, this rich, malty beer features a pronounced hop profile from traditional European and Pacific Northwest hops. The commercial version of this beer is an ALT-style beer, which comes from the German word "ALT," meaning "old". This refers to the aging that alts undergo since they ferment more slowly and at colder temperatures than most makes. Slow fermentation helps condition the flavors, contributing to the overall balance and smoothness. This beer can be fermented at 60°F to make the traditional ALT version, or at the standard 70°F temperature for a different (but still very good) ale.
